Impark is not in the business of selling parking. They may have been at one time but assuredly now find it immensely more profitable to be in the business of writing infractions. In my city Impark swooped in and bought out 90% of all the parking operators in the core leaving literally zero choice as to which company you could deal with. Within the first 60 days they removed the parking lot attendants and installed meters to "replace" them. Second thing they did was increase the monthly parking fee from $75 to $90 and within 60 more days increased it again to $105. By replacing the attendants with the auto meters they did 2 things - made in immensely more difficult to pay unless you are carrying a bag of change or have a credit card because that's all they take and also the machines are often broken or inoperable. Secondly they hired a squad of lot "supervisors" that inspect the lots for people not displaying a valid ticket and/or haven't paid for the parking and nail them with a massive infraction. The infraction writers are PAID A BONUS PER INFRACTION. This was told to me directly by one of the nicer ones. At my business we have caught, ON VIDEO these Impark employees writing infractions to my staff, customers and friends that were legally parked in my parking ON MY PROPERTY in clearly marked spots. Impark plays stupid in these cases and unless you have proof you weren't on their lot feign ignorance and basically tell you to shove it and pay the fine. This is apparently a common occurence with Impark on their lots across Canada. This company has to be one of the most combative businesses I have ever dealt with. I spend over $7000 a year on parking from them and they continue to nickle and dime me and harass us to the point that I have threatened to have the police intervene and a peace bond be placed on their staff to remain 500 feet from my business (thus restricting them from entering the parking lot adjacent to my building). Now here is the dirty little secret that Impark does not want you to know. THEY CANNOT AND WILL NOT enforce the infractions. The only way they can collect on these is to take yoy to court and sue you individually for each offense which they are not going to do - an Impark employee freely admitted this to me. All they will do is send the collections agency after you which you promptly tell to FUCK OFF and put your number on the do not call list and they cannot call you again. This company are nothing more than an organization of THIEVES that rip off everyone in their path. If you simply google Impark you will see MANY instances of Impark being caught red handed doing underhanded and shady if not illegal things to rip people off like blocking off free, public street parking during special events (ILLEGAL) and directing people into their paid lots instead to gouge them. Spread the word - do not pay these infractions.

I am very impressed with the article I have just read. I wish the author of jaime.bueza.com can continue to provide so much worthwhile information and unforgettable experience to jaime.bueza.com readers. There is not much to state except the following universal truth: Computers are the tools of whoever knows your password I will be back.

Same problem, different company - Ottawa Parking Services. They refused to recognize the valid pass I had and sent their claim to a collection agency. After I told the collection agency to back off, today, I got a letter from them saying if I or my car is found on any of "their lots" I will be arrested for trespassing and my car will be towed. Incredible! I'm shopping a class action lawyer right now. There's a class action suit on right now in Toronto against Impark for that very thing.

The author of jaime.bueza.com has written an excellent article. You have made your point and there is not much to argue about. It is like the following universal truth that you can not argue with: The best truths invariably come from the sides of mugs that you never remember purchasing. Thanks for the info.
